Orlando Flight training offers conversion courses to the FAA type licences. We aim to provide the most up to date information, but please check with the appropriate regulatory authority for the latest and most current regulations for your conversion.
CONVERT TO FAA
There are a number of options for people wishing to fly in the USA or attain a FAA Pilot License.
If you are wishing to hour build, or fly for fun we recommend a licence validation. If you are wanting to add a multi engine rating, or wish to convert to a FAA License then there is a course designed especially for you.
FAA VALIDATION
To apply for a to a FAA license validation based on your foreign ICAO license, you need to have:

a valid and current foreign ICAO license, of the same of higher level to which you are applying for conversion to.

the foreign license must be validated by the Authority that issued it (done internally by the FAA for all bar UK CAA issued licences)

submit the following form (found by clicking here) the FAA , 90 days in advance of your conversion date. The number to fax the form to is 1 405 954 9922 .

visit a FAA FSDO office (click here to locate the closest) to collect the validation in person with suitable identification.
Additional requirements for United Kingdom Applicants ONLY
In addition to the procedures stated under Verification of Authenticity of Foreign license, Rating and Medical Certification above, airmen from the United Kingdom should note the following additional steps that are required by the United Kingdom CAA to complete this verification process. The additional forms are required prior to the UK CAA providing any requested information to the Airmen Certification Branch, AFS-760.
Please note: The Verification of Authenticity of Foreign license, Rating and Medical Certification form must be submitted directly to the FAA, Airmen Certification Branch, AFS-760 not to the UK CAA. The information required by the UK CAA must be submitted directly to the UK CAA and not to the FAA, Airmen Certification Branch, AFS-760.
FAA LICENSE CONVERSION
In order to convert to any FAA License you must meet the experience as per FAR Part 61 for the issue of the licence you are applying for, and you must complete the following:
- Flight and ground training as required to prepare you for the flight test
- Attain a FAA Medical certificate
- Attain a pass in the relevant theory examination
- Complete and pass a flight and oral test for the licence level you are applying for with a Designated Examiner.
Upon completion of the above steps you will be issued with a FAA Pilots Licence.
